How I Store Long Lip Products

Something I have always struggled with is storing long lip products such as crayons, pencils and liquid lipstick because:
A) I have many, and
B) They look so odd with the rest of my lipsticks which are like half of the size.

But at last, I have found a SOLUTION *Points finger in the air*

In my latest homewares haul, I mentioned that I picked up this copper canister which is actually the perfect size to keep all of the crayons and lip pencils that I own. It looks like a pretty bouquet of lipstick flowers which is really unique and gives a nice touch to my room. I like the fact that I can just see the caps without the writing {I'm all about aesthetics}. It currently store about 15 lip products in there at the moment which is a little worrying but fear not, there is room for more ;). {I'm kidding, I have too many and need to stop buying LIP PRODUCTS! I have only one pair of lips!!!}

As for the lip products that are stashed in there, majority of them are from Revlon as I went zero to crazy on their release of the MATTE and LACQUER balms. I did do posts on them, full reviews and swatches but I culled a few colours that I wasn't just diggin'. So of course all the ones that survived were pinks, oranges, corals and one lonely red shade.

And of course more lip crayons; Rimmel "Keep Mauving", Bourjois "Orange Punch" and Nyx "Honey Nectar". These are crayons that are quite sheer but buildable and I pretty much wear on days where I cannot be bothered with anything too fancy. And then my beloved NARS "Red Square" which is bright orange red. Me gusta :} And also another lip pencil from NARS called "New Lover" which is a velvet gloss and is more comfortable to wear and has a sheeny finish on the lips.

I also have some matte liquid lipsticks such as "Suadeberry" from Lime Crime and a vintage red matte from Klara Cosmetics. And I also have a dupe for Lime Crime's Red Velvet which I'm testing out from Savvy in the shade "Miss Monroe".

How do you store awkward lip products? I'd really love to know!

End Of Semester Makeup Haul

I must admit that my makeup shopping has significantly reduced during the course of my semester. Like my bank account has been so chilled and happy with this new habit of not buying new makeup every week. So to celebrate getting through the semester of highs and lows, I decided to go makeup shopping. I did splurge on some high end things, but instead of adding in the haul, I decided that I want to play around with them first {before taking photos, the bblogger in me cries}. So I thought since there was way more drugstore products that I would do a little haul post because I do LOVE a good ol' haul. Some things I have tried and will share my thoughts but most of them I haven't had a chance to put all over my face yet.

The main product that I was after was the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and I've gotta say, I am impressed. Now the gripe I have with drugstore foundations is that they are never light enough with yellow undertones. This foundation was sent from the heavens above and matches my skin PERFECTLY! Yas, and then of course it looks pretty dewy and healthy on my skin and lasts a fair amount of time. Overall, I'm getting on great with this foundation.

I'm actually surprised that I didn't get as my lip products as I did. Like I only picked up the Maybelline Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencil in "Minimalist" which I have only swatched in store. It looks like a sheeny light pink shade that is super wearable and easy to apply. I'm sure I'll report back with my thoughts. I can't even get over the fact that I only got one lip product. When does that ever happen?!

Even though I have like 5 mascaras that are waiting to be used, I picked up the L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara which is waterproof {my fave for not getting the panda eye effect}. I have short, stumpy lashes and I normally like using volumising mascaras to get va-va-voom lashes but for every day wear, I like the look of natural long lashes. Hopefully it delivers.

In terms of eyes, I thought I would try a L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow and I got the shade "Forever Pink" because it swatched so creamy and pigmented in store. I have played around with the shadow maybe once or twice and I still feel torn. I don't like how it looks so foily on the lid, it's beautiful don't get me wrong but it doesn't sit well on my eyes. And then I picked up the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in "Nude" which is perfect for brightening the waterline.

I didn't realise in store that nearly everything that I bought is by L'Oreal but gotta utilise them sales if you know what I mean ;). I picked up the Nude Magique Blur Cream which is a primer that is supposed to create a blurring effect to prep for foundation. I don't really get the fuss with primers, as long as they make my foundation stay on longer - I'm a happy chappy. Another product that I haven't tried yet it the Lumi Magique Touch Of Light Highlighter which was influenced by youtubers. I mean what isn't these days right?

In the past, I have owned a few of the L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Polishes and really enjoy the cream formula and easy application due to the curved brush. It was only a matter of time before I tried one of their glitter formulas and can I just say that this is one of the prettiest glitters that I have seen. It's name is "Sequin Explosion" which is justified with the amount of glitter bombs in this polish. Overall it has a silvery lilac undertone of glitters with blue micro glitters and small pink chunks. Pretty much a sequin explosion. Again, I will report back.

Have you tried any of these products before? Tell me your thoughts!

Cute Stationary? Shut Up And Take My Money!

I truly am a sucker when it comes to stationary. Kikki K has some of the sleekest designs so when I discovered that they had a yellow collection going on, I was like YAAASSSS KIKKI K YAAAASSS! Hands in the air and everything!

I knew Kikki K had these Set of Bowls and I was keen but not really keen because what am I really going to do with not one, but three tiny bowls?! I saw that one of them had a gold robotic bee detail inside the bowl and I was sold. Plus they look super cute stacked together so I'm sure I'll find a spot for them. And then because I like everything to match, I bought a hexagonal Small Dish Plate that follows with gold detailing saying "Life is sweet". Life will be sweet now that I own this thing so I can place cute rings and stuff on this dish. The aesthetic is real!

Copper is the bees knees in homewares at the moment, and I had my eye on this Copper Canister since the last collection. I bought it thinking that it could be a cool brush holders but then I thought that it might get destroyed with water and scratches. I currently store all my lip crayons in it because they used to kinda lay awkwardly in my drawers but now they are all together and look like a bunch of lipstick flowers.

I bought the Hello Yellow Feature Journal because this girl likes writing lists like nobody's business and yellow is one of my favourite colours and I JUST LIKE JOURNALS OKAY? okay.  Plus every once in a while, the design of the page changes which is super cool and unique to have in a notebook. And then I saw a Postcard Set with the same theming and my mind switched straight to #bloggeraestheticstho

You can ask mama lemon but back in my primary school days, I was really into scrapbooking. Like I had drawers full of papers, ribbons, tapes, decorations ETTICKA ETTICKA. It was insane, and everyone thought it was not cool to scrapbook, and well well well, what do we see here?! Things like smash books and project life are in with the cool crowd. I'll stop myself there because I could go into so much detail and that's not what you came here for. Long story short, I'm getting back into scrapbooking. I saw this Paper Lovers Book which is exactly what it is. A book filled with different papers, stickers, labels and more!

And then I picked up the Life is Sweet Vision Board Kit for the times where I need a bit of motivation and inspiring things to get myself back on track. I would be fibbing if I didn't say that the paper purchases weren't for the blog. Ya know what I'm sayin'?! winky wink, nudgey nudge ;)

I walked out spending too much money, but no regrats. NO REGRATS. If there is cute stationary infront of my eyeballs, I'm going to buy it.
